A Veteran Game Maker, Artist and Art Director

Hello there! My name is Lou Catanzaro and I have been making games steadily for over 16 years (wow, I’m old.) I have made games of all sorts; built teams, companies and managed many talented individuals, all while bringing high quality products to market on a wide variety of today’s top platforms.

My sincere passion is making sure people engage and really enjoy the process of making games together. I truly believe there is no greater job in the world! Take a look around at some of my work. By no means is it exhastive. Its a small selection of my personal works as an artist. I have reams of works and products to point to! I hope you enjoy my site and even connect with me using any of the social media tools presented here.

All my very best to you,

Lou Cat

Superman

The man of steel. I turned the sketch I created, based on the pose of Christopher Reeve, into a finer Flash rendering. I am happy with some of the details in the face especially. I enjoy creating art within Flash that doesn’t necessarily fit the common mold of what people usually think Flash can do natively.

A Gastronomical Romance

This is a sketch I did for a pair of characters. The raccoon loves the bear. The bear tolerates the raccoon’s affections, but is most pleased with how much he loves her cooking. They are an odd couple, but bound together by a deep love…of food.

Talia Blackraven: Last of the Bandiclaw

This is Talia Blackraven, last of the Bandiclaw. I was doing some tests and concepts for social game company. They gave me some rough outlines, but I dug in and created a character background that was pretty interesting to me.  I think I would like to write a story about it.

Talia is a mother and loving wife who is part of a famous tribe of raccoons called the Bandiclaw, a resourceful and intelligent clan who lives on their wits and dexterity in a hidden area of the Deep Forest.  One day dark creatures bring war upon her little peaceful village. Her family is wiped away in an instant and she is utterly ruined, while thrown into a swirl of adventure and challenge against the greatest forces of evil the woodland folk have ever known.

One of my childhood favorite TV characters

Up WAY too late…but couldn’t resist putting this sketch together. This is Sigmund. He was one of my all time favorite characters from TV when I was a kid. Sid and Marty Kroft made some memorable TV experiences for me. This one stuck in there. Sigmund had a mom who was a terror and always yelled at him to be more “scary and mean”, while his obnoxious brothers always picked on him. This show game me no end of “kid stress”.  I watched each and every episode thinking…why don’t they just leave him alone, man?
